    Stupid PSI Question

    Just got a 1998 LS (145K) (Ultra Pckg. Handling pckg) and have read and been told different psi for my 225/60/16 tires. 34 psi all around? 31 f 35r?
    Any suggestions.

      I run 32-35 all around to combat tire shoulder wear up front and low gas mileage. I do drive a bit like a hooligan though.

          There should be a sticker in your driver's door jamb that tells you what cold pressure to run. Add 10% if its hot.
          Just do NOT run the MAX psi stamped on the tire. Some people make that mistake.

            Start with whatever the sticker says if you're running stock size tires. You can up that a few PSI, but don't exceed the ratings on the tire. I usually end up almost exactly between the factory's number and the max number on the tire.

              the only time I've gotten close to the max PSI is when I was hauling some heavy stuff and squatting the tires as well as the suspension. 40psi on the rear that day.

                Anywhere between 30 and 42 is safe imo. Adjust to taste. Higher for a bit better mileage.

                      Same here. I've always done that with pretty much every car I ever owned. I don't like driving on anything too much more than that.
