Looking to borrow / rent a car hauler

I'm in need of a way to transport my Vic. If anyone near Chicago land has one they'd be willing to let me use for a weekend I'd be forever grateful. I'd even be willing to pay if the price is reasonable. I realize uhaul and such places have them but rental for one is ridiculous and I refuse to pay that much.

please call or PM me. 708-259-4677

    Heretic@wigala.org

    Thank you for your time!

I have a complete Reese tow bar setup if you're interested, lightly used. Tow bar, chains, magnetic lights, receiver+ball, etc. Not having to use a trailer or tow dolly might bring the weight down enough to expand your tow vehicle options considerably.

Yes, this is for towing the car to scotts. How safe are those Reese bars for long distances? I assume those keep all four wheels on the ground of the vehicle being towed? On the Vic it's not too bad as I can easily remove the driveshaft. I just want to make sure it's safe for the haul lol, this is my baby we're talking about

I towed my Fusion from here to upstate NY up and down mountains and even off road (Adirondack National Park). No worries aside from a safety pin that came loose. It is made of box stock unlike the cheaper u-section one from Harbor Freight. Tracks a lot better than a tow dolley, and a lot less weight and sway than a typical 2-axle trailer. I put in stainless HD u-bolts for the safety chains as well.

All bolts get the torque wrench and paint for quick inspection at stops. You will need to pull the shaft or install a lube pump for your trans (auto I assume?).

I have some pics the install here:

I know Gabe tows his Geo all over the place with one of those things. Last I talked to him, we worked out that it probably had close to 20k miles "on the hook".
