Are torque converters different in late aero and civilian panthers?

I was wondering if the the late aero P71's had different or the same torque converters as the same model year civilian version. I think I heard that the HPP's have different torque converters, but was wondering about the P71's.

If there is a difference in the P71's from civilians, what is it?

Also, if the HPP's have a different torque converter, what is the difference?

I'm not very knowledgeable about transmissions, so any detailed explanations would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Over on CVN, word is the P71s did in fact get different torque converters. Never heard of HPPs having different TCs though.
1992 CVLX. 5.0 HO/GT40P/T5/3.73/trak-lok with bolt ons. 02 front CVPI setup, rear HPP setup, CVPI shocks around, F250 radiator, e-fans, and the power of 3G. 15.92@89mph, 2.4 60', 4700' elevation (5500' DA) with 3.08 open rear and the old oil chugging 289. RIP.

There is no difference in the Aeros. In 1999 the P71s got a 11.25" vs the 12" normal converter. In 2000, the HPP got the same 11.25" converter but the non-HPP kept the 12".

That sounds like what I recall, forgot about it starting so late though. 1999 was a good year for the CVPI (not counting it being NPI still), IIRC the only year for the MMX driveshaft and the only year for 3.55s. All others were 3.27s and aluminum.

2000 HPP and P71 had 3.55 gears and the P71 still got the MMX driveshaft.
