    P1633 code KAM

    Yay.

The 03 had the check engine light on yesterday, so I checked it. Threw code P1633, Keep Alive Memory, keeps stored engine management info saved.

Did a little checking, turns out to be not unusually uncommon in many Ford products so I thought I'd spill the beans I found. Following info comes from crownvic, f150, a taurus site, ask, and others, all shamelessly pirated

It seems it comes down to a bad charging system, a broken circuit or a bad PCM.

    Here's the official checklist:

There should be a yellow/black wire going into the PCM plug, that is the power supply line.

    Here's the pinout:

    I'll report back....

Fixed it! Well, the light went off by itself. I'm not proud, I'll take the credit

Still want a once over. Two questions: Anyone have a schematic showing underhood grounds, and anyone have a parts list? There's a guy selling OEM NOS '03 PCMs on ebay for $30 del'd obo! Part number MPC-189, 3W7A-12A650-BCD - civvie? Cop? Anyone?
