    Exhaust questions

Ok so here goes, I am planning my dual exhaust for my 1998 gm, has any one found over axle tail pipes other than the stock ones that fit the whale? i can find nothing except stock 2 inch dual pipes, i want a 2.5, would a say 1995 impala exhaust fit with out major modification? can i run them closer to the rear dff than stock? or will that locate them too close to the gas tank? any pics of custom duals on your guys whales? or aeros?

The 2.5" Impala tails work beautifully, but be quick, they ARE NOT making them anymore. Whatever is left out there is all she wrote, & nobody can bend them that tight apparently.

supposedly rock auto still has them tho, i just went to check stock and ordered a pair for my town car.....it surely needs them, the tailpipes on the car i custom bent in 1998 out of 2.25" pipe when i worked for meineke.

If you can't/dont want to get them through rockauto it may be worth talking to a local speedshop. The oldschool hotrod parts place around here (Karbelt in Pickering, Ontario) was able to source them for me about a year ago.

Just got to say, if you really plan to keep the car for more than 5-6 years, save up and go stainless. It will be cheaper only in the long run.
