It was nice to actually meet you after, I don't know, 4, 5 years or so?

sometimes I wish this great nation wasn't so "great" so that driving up there didn't require 2-3 days. Next time I come up I'll probably have a trailer to sleep in being pulled behind.

Hey guys. Sorry I wasn't really in a good mood for the majority of the party. The Vic was just not going my way. Between the dud ABS pump and the weird noises and such. I was at the point of just scrapping the whole thing. I appreciate all the help and support and smiling faces that everyone gave me while I was trying to get it all together, without you guys it would probably be still up there. I thank you all for that. For what it's worth, the Vic is all done and home with me. The ABS is worked out, Vicky drives straight (now with a proper alignment done by me and my friend at Pepboys), fuck you J&J Tire... big brakes work great! The body no longer leans, and the noise has been singled out to the rear sway bar being a tad bit loose on the one side.

It was great seeing all of you again. It was also nice meeting a few new faces, and also putting some faces to usernames. Hope to see you all next year!

Dear Panthers,
Hours away from Scottfest in the mountains of Virginia, rumor has it that a humble hardly modified lopo wagon destroyed the HO's at the drag strip. Tell me it isn't so!

Who ran what times?

The MegaMerc went a blazing 16.66 LOL

Today is the first day I feel like myself. Beginning Monday I was either sick or really experiencing a severe allergy attack. I was really out of it for four days. I was driving like a moron, I am not really sure how I made it home in one piece.

Either way it was still good to see the GMN folks

I think I ran a 16.8. Far off my 16.3's I was running before. Maybe everyone was running slow. Or maybe the Battle Wagon is getting tired.

Keep in mind it was high 50's low 60's when you ran, and it was like 80-90 at scottfest...

The weather will make a huge difference, as will the oil, intake, coolant & track surface temperatures etc.. I neglected to log temps etc. What track was it? Some tracks ie: Cecil County or Atco Dragway, both are near sea level & are notorious for quick times.

My fastest pass was @ 9:42 after the long clean up.

Side note, 2 years ago it went 16.39 @ ScottFest.

co'rec. If it was a more optioned up model it would be a Town Coupe. Same car pretty much, just trim differences. Thats actually the most base model Lincoln I've ever seen. Manual seats all around, no autolamp or autodim, no tilt steering, etc.

No the only thing worse than that rear bumper is the bum who is supposed to be paying for it...

IIRC i believe it doesnt even have split 50/50 bench seats in the front i could be wrong though. no cassette player. i thought it being a 2 door it would be well equipped guess they can be very plain though i would buy it if the price was right but i dont need to now since i got me a 2 door lincoln like i wanted in the beginning when i was looking for another 2 door. i kind of struck gold on my find since it was a rare piece of lincoln history being an 82 Mark VI Bill Blass with all the goodies except the tow package. makes my town car feel like crap but i love my lincolns and will not part with them.

its a nice town car for a base model if only the owner who was supposed to buy it didnt hack shit up working stuff on it. sorry for the double post

The Continental has a power front full bench, power door locks, antenna, and windows. Electronic Radio with no cassette.

Pure speculation but it sounds like a company car for a top salesman or a VP. The kind that gets replaced every couple of years.

-ryan s. And 12 quarts of crankcase fluidz. so that's probably why gas mileage so good :p

mitymerc
09-10-2013, 05:36 PM
NHRA class racers will dump a quart or so before making a record attempt, less drag on the crank, (& the oil pump?)

gadget73
09-10-2013, 08:22 PM
probably more about windage issues than drag on the pump. With a windage tray, thats not so much a concern but I guess those might not be allowed in certain classes?

Did you document before & after the K&N filter?

SVT98t
09-11-2013, 01:02 PM
not installed yet. I need a pigtail so I can make a quick disconnect for the MAF invade I need to swap back.
Plus it requires a tune.

A simple panel air filter requires a tune? I'm glad all my stuff is eec IV!

SVT98t
09-11-2013, 02:52 PM
No. The cvpi air box has a built in 80mm MAF which has a slot style MAF. It has a different curve than the stock one.
