Town Cars with Aftermarket CD Player bouncing around in dash pocket

87 Town Car with Aftermarket Kenwood. I have a din kit installed but it doesnt support the rear of the deck. I.t ba1ly suspends it in the din slot and it bounces around when taking bumps. Anybody else experiencing this? I guess I midht have to try a better dash kit

Probably adding a support strap to the back of the radio and tying it up into the dash somewhere would fix the problem. Not much support out of a plastic ring that holds the DIN mount.

I modified the stock mount to work with my aftermarket radio. I also made my own mounting plate out of some thick aluminum.

I remember doing the same as 87gtvic. You can also shove some styrofoam or equivalent under the radio to help as well. Love your TC by the way. Exact color combo of my much missed 89.

Is an 87 Towncar setup different than 89 MGM?
I also did like 87gtVIC said, I used the stock mounts on my 89 MGM. The mount on the back screwed right on to the stud on the back of my radio just like it was on the stock radio.

There is less room behind a TC radio, than a MGM otherwise identical mounts.

I used the brace off the stock radio on my cars. The aftermarket radios are actually shorter than the stock ones, so it works well (except the vic... that one required some rigging).
