I forgot to mention, the stereo in the Cougar crackles when you touch the volume knob. This stereo looks just like the one I pulled out of S.U.

Are they interchangeable? Does the Cougar have the same ground system as the GM?

it will work as long as they are both non premuim sound or both premium sound

They do that when they sit around awhile.
