    Honda Body work

I took it upon myself to replace the core support on a 95 Honda Civic.
Got most of the body panels off friday night, after some drilling, prying, hammer and cursing, I finally got the damn core support off the car today.

Thats why my insurance co totalled a brand new 90 Ford Escort GT after it kissed a dividing wall at 25 mph. Unibodies certainly do suck.

Car is back together... I welded the new core support on this afternoon, then started bolting body panels on. all thats left is transfering over the windsheild washer nozzles to the new hood and putting on the inner fender skirts. I had some fitmet issues with the aftermarket fender, but I working it all out (Read..BFH)

Yeah.... I already tried suggesting leaving the hood black, adding some Riimmzz, fart can and a wing. She didnt go for it.

I should have the car finished tonight, then it will go off to the paint shop next week.

Core supports are a ROYAL COCKSUCKER to get off there. I know this from expirience from the T-bird.

However, that one looks a lot easier.

                  Looks good!

welding the new one on was a tad tricky. my gas bottle ran out and I couldnt find anyone to fill it friday afternoon. I ended up using .030" flux core, which really wasnt appropiate for the thin core support.
after burning through a few of the holes, I discovered the trick. weld in the middle and let the weld pool up and touch the outer, thinner metal.
first couple of welds look like ass, but the rest are decent.
