    Converting to newer suspension?

Once I saw this pic of Bk's supsension I have a strong desire to convert to the newer panther rear suspension. It looks like it is dynamicaly 1000 times better! Could someone post some pics of the entire rear suspension? Also, are the new style ones running a wider rear axle? I can weld all that crap on, but if its wider might as well just swap.

You would be better off just converting to a three link setup, and running either a watts-link or a panhard bar. also the 98+ cas have had a recall to reinforce the control arm mounts on the frame side, they have a tendency to rip off the frame.

A three link just needs a mount welded on top of the pumpkin, and a mount welded on the frame. then you just need a tube and two rod ends.

Or just getting a complete chassis from a 98+ car and putting your body on it.

I was looking at the 3 link setups for the mustangs and how to modify/build a similar setup for a panther. A torque arm setup would be pretty easy to fab up, from what I've seen looking at mustang stuff.

If you are thinking about doing any hardcore suspension work get teh book "Mustang Performance Handbook 2" Here This book breaks down suspension theories, how to build different suspension designs with engineering drawings. it is Mustang stuff but alot of it can be transfered to the Panther rear suspension if you use new numbers

Anything is possible. I'd think it would be way easier to do it to a 97 than a pre-92 car.

That mustang handling book is great. I read that a few times when I was building my turbo mustang coupe. There is a How to make your car handle book out there that is also very good. (on my christmas list)

Yeah the book "How to Make your Car Hanlde" is by Fred Puhn. got a copy of that book laying around. it deals with mostly older stuff (i think it was written about 83 or so) but it has a lot of stuff on SLA front suspension

My rear suspension is stock for now except for the boxed lower arms.
