I was using a vin decoder to try to find out what type of rear I have on my 87. It wasn't accurate because the 11 digit in my VIN is X instead of any the codes listed in the sticky thread. Also, I can't check the door sticker because it is no longer on the driver's side door.

Im pretty sure that the 11th digit in the VIN is for the assembly plant X = St. Thomas. If the door sticker is gone, crawl under the rear of the car and look for a tag attached to one of the diff cover bolts. it will prob be something like 3 08, 2 73, 3 27, or 3 55 That is your gear ratio, 3 08 is a 3.08 gear. if it is something like 3L55 then it is a 3.55 with a Trac-lokhttp://secondhandracing.com/Home.aspx
