    made up my mind

    i'm doing the 79-87 conversion...

    ..with a twist

i'm gonna run the battleaxe header panel from a merk with a 79-82 grille(supposed to be no name on the grille) i'm gonna fill in the hole for the hood ornament

its gonna have the vic tails, but they're not gonna have the LTD script on them. i'm gonna debadge the trunklid. i also have to take off the vic emblems on the c pillars. its really gonnathrow people for a loop lol, especially when they see the 90+ interior

there are two differnt tails for the 79-87 the 79-83s that have the script and the 84-87 that dont have the script. the 79-84s use 5 vertical reflectors the 84-87 use 3-4 fat horizontal reflectors. i have the originals of my 85 if you want them.

You're nuts! You know the rear of an '87 vs an '88 are angled different right? Good luck!

'82 or possibly '81 was the last year for LTD on the tails, duece.

          yup

          thats no biggie though

the hardest part is gonna be to locate a header panel, rust free back bumper, and a grille, on my budget lol :drug:

Check out that seller that I linked Tom to. He has a '79-'87 Merc header panel listed, brand new, for 99 cents and like 30 bucks to ship.
