New wheels! :headbang: (now I need tires) [2k4 GMQ]

I just won a set of rims on eBay. They're 18x8 Boyd Coddingtons, here's a pic:

    What does everyone think?

Also, I now need tires, anyone want to suggest a brand and size?

Yep... Ending bid 393.88 I think. Total with shipping/insurance is about $480. Sounds like a lot, but I found these rims new online for $475 EACH. I'd say I got a pretty good deal.

              Nice deal you got there!!!

With 8" wheels I don't think you can get very wide. Maybe 245's without bulging too much.

What type of tires do you want to get? All seasons or summer only? For perfomance summer tires, the BF Goodrich KDW2's are nice. If it weren't for my autocrossing, I'd think they would last a long time. I put on 10,000 plus miles and autocrossed all year, the center of the tires are still pretty thick. The sides are worn of course and I actually got new fronts already because of that. I think they do well in the wet too.

I had Dunlop 8000's and thought they were too soft. They didn't wear well at all.

I was thinking 245/45's, I think that would put me at the same tire diameter. I'd like some type of mild performance tire, but I'd also not like to lose my great riding luxo feel too... is there a happy medium?

I tried the Dunlops as 245/50 and I didn't notice much difference in ride. I think it was because there is still a similar amount of cushion even though the profile changed. The tire may have lost some cushion in height but it gained some in width. I am now running 35 up front and 40 in the rear and that is a big difference from stock. I do have harder settings on the shocks though. So that is also another factor to consider.

Nope. I have the QA1's on now. I had the Bilsteins first, then the single adjustable QA1's and now the dual adjustable ones.
