    Centerline Autodrag rims?

The aluminum slots I've got for the rear of my car aren't wide enough for the tires I want to run. So I'm considering some Centerline Autodrags. I like the looks of them and they will be painted black. My question is I've heard some bad things about the Weld Draglites not being strong enough due to the weight of the car. So do you think there will be any problems with running the Centerline Autodrags? I know they are different brands but the Autodrags are light weight racing wheels.

My car is going to be completely gutted but I think it'll still be somewhere in the 2800-3000 pound range.

Or should I just grab some 15x10" aluminum slots?

the problems with the Weld draglites is that they are a 3 piece wheel. they sandwich a spacer inside of where the lugs mount. under cornering loads they tend to fold. My brother had this happen on his car and almost lost control because of this. Assuming you get your cr that light (which would require fiberglass body panels) and you dont try to corner very hard you should be fine.

My worst enemies are those who presume me to be harmless. They cannot imagine how much I resent and disdain them, or just how great a threat they would face if I could get at them. Everything in their behavior speaks of insult and presumptuousness, and for now it is all I can do to make constructive use of my anger toward them. At this time, I just make a list of them and keep a watch on. Some day, with the help of time, space, and circumstance, I will be able to humiliate them properly - not in a manner they would enjoy, but in a style calculated to make them wish that they had never been born.

If my car weighs much more then 3,000 pounds when I'm finished with it I'd be surprised. I'm completely gutting it, I'm not even going to run winshield wipers. No AC or heat, no carpet, headliner, no factory seats(going with some much lighter omni buckets ). The dash is getting gutted, no spare tire/jack, no rear sway bar, aluminum racing radiator

If the light weight aluminum rims are going to be a problem then I'll just go with some cheap steel rims.

The lightest box i know of is a Florida guy that goes 11.80 and weighs around 3250# he has cut out all the supports in the hoods and doors. the only thing he has left to remove is his seat.

Mine has been almost as stripped. i still have carpet, and wipers (that dont work) aluminum rad. short exhaust,no rear seat, a aluminum Kirkey seat waiting to go in. ditched the heavy factory fuel tank.

Remember yoru dressed 460 is going to weigh around 6-700#

If you look at the summit ads for the drag lites, and pro-stars., the say not for use in something like 6-7 types of racing, all of which involve turning. Not sure if applies to those wheels, but you cannot have light weight and high stregnth wothout a lot of money.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the 2dr about 300 pounds lighter then the 4dr to start with?

The more I think about the 460 the more I think the 351W is a better choice. I can make just as much power( maybe more ) with less hassle and a few hundred pounds less weight.

I'm just going to use an aftermarket steel rim. They will weigh a little more but they are a 1/3(or less ) of the price of the other rims.

Difference between a 2 door and 4 door it not more than 150lbs, probobly less than 100lbs. And keep in mind that even though you are going to pull a bunch out, you have to put a bunch it. Lots of safty regs. Driveshaft loop, roll cage and stuff....

Duce what's the backspacing on your Cragars?

I checked my factory brochure and the 2dr is 3566, the 4dr is 3616 and the wagon is 3850. So I was thinking about the difference between the wagon and 2dr not the 4dr andc 2dr.

It looks like my car will probably weigh in at around 3400 pounds then. I suppose I'll just have to focus more on making more torque and HP and worry less about losing weight.

the backspace is 4" not enough to really fit under there. you can get them in custom backspace from summit but they are like $75 bucks opposed to $38. 5" is ideal for the rear, 4" for the front.
