Rip off the vinyl, soak the leftover crap in gas, throw a match on it.

the headliner needs to be removed to gain access to the nobs that hold the vinal trim in place. also there are some clips under the rear window. all the vinal is glued in place. you need to remove all the chrome trim around the vinal to gain access to the vinal edges. hope this helps!

does the plastic trim around the back window need to be removed as well?

kinda thought the headliner needed removed, wasnt sure though. It needs redone anyway, all that's left is the cardboard backing lol.

I hope there arent any holes under the top!

Thanks Chachi. Hopefully it's warm enough to work on it some more tommorow after I run around for a few hours tracking down tax stuff.

you might get away without removing it depending on how well the glue is still holding

That glue is some tough shit. We tried removing the top on my '86 and we had a hell of a time with it. Tranny died two weeks later, so the car went bye-bye anyway.
