on a 92, what is the cut-off date?

i went to another yard today. they don't have much but the service is great, and so on and so forth. there was only one gm there thad might have a tranny i could use. it was a 92. the door jamb sticker says the car was manu. 04/92. is this before they switched to the aod-e or is it after? the fluid is nice and pink and doesn't smell burnt. i would of had them raise the car so i could look under there, but i was on a time crunch. if the gm tranny is not useable, he's getting in monday a 90 tc with a 302, so if i can't use the gm tranny i'll snag the tc tranny. other question. is there any diffrence between an aod backed up to a 5.0 and an aod backed up to a 3.8? he has a t-bird back there with an aod as well

oh yeah 275bux and a 30 day warranty
