tear it off if it's shabby looking.....it's there for sound deadening and designed to fall in over the engine in case of fire........i had a crown vic wagon come in this week that was on fire and the hood pad did not help

I have been told this by a few people, but I custom/muscle cars w/o 'em. Might make the clear coat go sooner, because of the heat. It is insulation.Comment
