    gears AGAIN lol

so if you change your rear end gears how do you make your speedo correct again? or do you not even have to? thanks

You can accomplish by changeing the gear on the speedo cable, where it goes into the trans housing...

I forget what gears u will need for what gear tho..

3.55 is a good mid-range gear. You get good low end without giving up a lot of top end. Face it, you're gonna run out of engine and suspension ability long before you need to worry about running out of gear.

With an AOD and 28" tires a 3.55 gear will give you a top speed of somthing like 180-190MPH

Not really true, since no AOD can go to OD at WOT. With 355 top of 3rd is aroung 110-120mph.

Nope. all race trannies are the same way if not even worse. Once you get higher performance there is less involvment with OD. I have to be at like 60% to stay in OD.

Should get a 4R70W out of an late 5.0 Explorer build that and run a full manual valve body.

I think since I will be aiming for more of a road race car, that I am going to go manual soon.
