    Push Bars

Hey all, I'm looking to get a nice push bar (grille guard) for my GM, similar to the one BBUB has on his car - I've tried Ebay and various websites, but most of the grille guards out there are either beat to hell (from an ex cop car) or meant for trucks/suv's - does anyone know of a source a push bar for my baby?
89 Grand Marquis LS with 107K miles (as of 1/13/07). As proof of my undying love, I've invested:
    - New exhaust
    - Front brakes
    - Rebuilt tranny
    - New vinyl top
    - Alternator & Battery
    - And still going.

I had Code 3 Squad Shield on my Townie, and it looked great, but I destroyed it when I rearended an SUV once. Needless to say my next pushbar won't be aluminum

Maybe you should reconsider, the aluminum push gaurd crumpeling probably saved quite a bit of impact from reaching your car. In a light accident, it may mean the difference between a bent bumper or a bent push gaurd.

The other problem you might run into is that nobody is really producing those for the boxes anymore.

Setina makes a pretty universal push bumper.. and they can still get you the brackets for your car... as they are pretty simple.... A friend of mine just got one for an old diplomat he is restoring... brand new from the Setina's factory....

Blaze, the pushbars didn't really crumble, their top part (the triangles holding the pipe) just sheared off when the pipe hit the door-mounted spare wheel of the SUV. The bottom part where they bolt to the bumper was just fine. If I had a steel push bar it would just twist the bumper without damaging the grill, and bumpers are easier to find and cheaper to replace.

Those actually look like the bumper guards off of a full size Chevy/GMC. I'd look in the yards for a K5 Blazer, Suburban or pickup and pick one up, see if it's close.

I have heard of that before, but have never seen them in a J.C. whitney catalog listed for anything other than a truck.

Maybe I need to give them a call.

Sorry to revive an old post, but...

There is a guy on ebay selling box body push bumpers. He has 9 left.
