Where to buy sheets of lexan?

Do any of you know where to buy sheets of Lexan? I've decided to replace my rear window and rear 1/4 windows with Lexan. I just need to know where I can get a large enough sheet to cut a rear window out of. Thanks.

When I build a GMGT racecar, im gonig to riviet (with Stainless rivets) the lexan to the rear quarter windows.

That's my plan! I guess I've been watching too much Nascar lately. The rivoted in windows has a cool look to it and Lexan weighs 1/3 to 1/2 the amount of the glass windows.

I've been doing some searching though and I'm not very happy. I found out I can't use window film on Lexan due to the fact it continue to gas out which means I'd end up with a bunch of ugly air bubbles in the tint film.

So I'm going to have to try and find some dark tinted plexiglass to use. Where the hell am I going to find that????

I swear I've seen tinted lexan before. Plexi clouds up. I wouldn't use it for window material since it would look like crap after a while. It'll also get little scratches and stuff from flying dust and dirt.

Lexan scratches too. They offer a Lexan with a scratch resistant coating I think it's called MR10. I've been able to find it in a bronze tint but that's not what I want. I want black/grey! Having an all black car with crystal clear windows is going to look like crap! I need tint! Any ideas???

Oh yea I expect to replace the lexan windows every once in a while.

I have a plasticv window in mine. the drivers window was replaced with lexan after a break in 3 years ago. after 3 years in the sun it was too cloudy to see out of. a guy cut me a new one out of acrylic for loaning him a floor jack. Lexan, polycarb, Hyzod, whatever you call it will haze up with time. My drivers window rolls up and down, just have to drill out two rivets, drill two holes in the plastic and use two small bolts.

Find a local plastic supply place, that is where we get it. Dont know what the tint laws are in your state, but you can buy tinted lexan.

You will need 1/8", if you had vent windows id send you a pattern. I found some polycarb that in the 1/8" thickness will stop a 9mm round.

If I remember the law correctly I can go as dark as I want on the rear window and rear 1/4 windows. I'll have to check again on the door glass tint limit.

I'm not going with Lexan in the doors or the windshield.

                LEXAN....

Go to Google, put in "Lexan" This is a site I found... this is the 1/8 price sheet....

                http://freckleface.com/shopsite_sc/s...inchthick.html
1/8" by 48" by 96" is only $108.00 Ships motor freight... should be enough to do all the windows, and maybe have enough left to have a spare set cut out, if you lay it out right.... ALOT cheaper than glass!!!!

Also--- they have it in all sorts of thicknesses!!!!

This company also carries it in "Solar grey" for tinted windows...

All the true hobby class rc cars bodies are lexan. Ive never seen one cloud up and they are painted. So what I will suggest to you is go to a hobby shop and get some tamiya paint called "smoke". that is the color. Put some light coats of that on and it will look tinted. I would use an airbrush or something though.
