    Another new merc owner

Just wanted to say that this is a great site and I hope to be able to contribute. I've got an 87 Mercury GM blue with grey interior. Just minor rust on the trunk lid. Its kind of a test bed for me though, because my other car was an 87 Supra Turbo that was BPU+ modded. So far I'm happy with it cause it starts every time!

      Welcome daawg!

My worst enemies are those who presume me to be harmless. They cannot imagine how much I resent and disdain them, or just how great a threat they would face if I could get at them. Everything in their behavior speaks of insult and presumptuousness, and for now it is all I can do to make constructive use of my anger toward them. At this time, I just make a list of them and keep a watch on. Some day, with the help of time, space, and circumstance, I will be able to humiliate them properly - not in a manner they would enjoy, but in a style calculated to make them wish that they had never been born.

Yeah, I already love how it rides. I just need to put some power under the hood without loosing torque (heavy car/auto trans). There are A LOT of great ideas here though. I can't wait to get started.

Alright, everyone...currently I'm in MD on the eastern shore. Kent Island is area. I noticed a lot of you guys are from the east coast with a few midwesterners, but hardly anyone from the west coast. Not that that means anything...just that a meet is just around the corner for me, or up 95!!

Right now I want to do some basic stuff. My dad gave me the car with 112k on it and it runs strong and has been well maintained. Just a little paint fade from the sun.

First step is the exhaust. Gonna loose the crappy single and go for a 2 1/2" dual setup. Then maybe an intake off an HO or explorer, and ultimately a crate motor. (I can dream can't I)

Suspension setup is something I like to do alot. I don't want a car set up for the dragstrip cause it's no fun on the twisties, where I spend a lot of my time. That's a real challenge to me in this car, but I know we can work something out.

I'm leaving the interior mostly stock, save for some guages, cheapies at first and then autometer. I DON'T rely on idiot lights.

83 tc, I understand what you're saying, and I'm with you on "small" imports. The supra's are a different animal though. But I'm not going to start any arguments my first week on the forums!!

Jason, I'd have to do a lot more research, but the turbo from my car X2 would probably deal with the flow characteristics of the 5.0 pretty good...hmmn. Nah, too much money and too much hassle.
