Wheel spacers came in today Hillbilly fun, ensues...

Soo after church tonight I couldnt resist test fitting them.

Sorry about the dark pics, I'll try to take some better ones in the daylight.

It could probably drive right over almost any parking block and never scrape right now. The problem is I don't have the suspension lifted any at all yet and only have a couple inches between the top of the tire and the fender. On the rear, the tire would contact the lip on the fender, which I will probably be rolling anyway.

The front is another story all together. There is less than 1 inch between the top of the tire and the fender. The tire will miss the lip as long as they are pointed straight forward, but I will need to raise it a couple of inches at least to make it work.
Another problem, which I anticipated was trimming the fender. I will have to change the shape of the fender opening slightly at the bottom of the front fender just ahead of the tire, as it hits when turning the wheel. Since the two front tires are nearly bald freebies anyway, I may just go with 1" smaller tires similar to the rear ones.

I also need to replace a couple of wheel studs, I stripped/broke when taking off the old wheels. (king kong must have put them on with a cheater bar)

One side benefit of this project is ground clearance. It makes it really easy to get under the car now. I can easily fit under it to do an oil change without jacking it up. It will be really nice once I get the suspension up a couple more inches. When I get ready to do the transmission swap, there should be plenty of clearance and even if the car fell, you would probably be ok as long as the wheel or something didn't hit you. (I have no desire to find out though, LOL!)

At any rate, it should be mega fun for the mild off roading , and sub 65mph local driving I have in store for it.

Sweet! Are you putting trac-loc in it cause I remember wheeling with my 2wd s-10 and it had a open rearend and that thing always got stuck. It would have helped alot.

Actually it already has one, which seems to be working. I plan on putting new clutches in it and an f250 "S" spring in it while it is out for the 4.10-4.56 gear swap. (yes I was serious about the sub 65mph driving, LOL)
Seriously though, I don't drive my own vehicles much anymore. I have a company truck that gets tons of miles on it for work and my personal car gets less than 1-2k miles a year, so mileage isn't too much of an issue. I do however want a stump puller 1st gear, for trailer towing and such.

I want a set of those wheels! What was done to them to change the bolt pattern? How is that done?

          Thanks for the positive comments.

They are 4 plain steelie spare rims from 1997 F150's that I got for free.

The wheel spacers, are actually adapters/spacers that go from the panther 5x 4.5" to 5x 135mm. The offset is off by 3/4" so you need at least that much in a spacer. I would suggest at least 1.25" in a spacer if you go that route so that they clear the lug nuts. My front 1" spacers have about 1/8" of the lugs sticking out that I am going to have to do something about before I can drive it.
Plus the stock lug sticks out another 1/8" beyond that, but I can either grind them down or swap in shorter ones.

I have 1.5" spacers on the rear and they are about perfect with the stock lugs. I am sure shorter ones are available though. If I had it to do all over, I would have ordered 1.5" all the way around.

Thanks 85MercPark. Funny thing is I have photoshop that lightens the pics pretty easily, but it never crossed my mind to use it. LOL!

I'll try to get some good daylight pics today though.

BTW someone needs to show me how to attach thumbnails over here.
