    Mounting a tach in a '90-91 Box.

I'm thinking of mounting a 2 5/8" tach on my A-pillar in a pod or in the driver's side vent. I want it to look good too. Where did you mount your tach?

I cant think of anyone with a 90-91 with a tach in it... tho I heard somwhere that that style steering column shroud is simmilar to F-150's of that era, and they make column shroud pods for the trucks that you might be able to use.

Tho as far as my info on that goes, its not based on fact. <ight be true though!

I bought the same Sun Pro 2 5/8" black tach as Freshmeat's tach. I might just put it in the driver's side corner, on top of the dash. I'll take the tach out to the car and "test fit it" in the morning.

The driver's side vent looks like a good place. I'll test it today.

I'm building a sleeper. I want to keep it hidden and the car's an automatic. It's not needed, but I'd like to glance at it once in a while.

mine hangs from the screw used to attach the dash trim to the top pad, just above the vent on the drivers side, flip the bracket in reverse and it mounts perfect...

I want more guages, but unfortunately Townies are somewhat ignorant on where you can put them and not have it look like crap. At least on the Vic, the panel above the glove box is flat, so you can pop guages in there, or even use the police guage cluster thing over there. The townies have that part raised, and its not wide enough to allow full size guages, only 1.5" mini guages, which can be a pain to read from that far away.

I think I'm going to mount it on the A-pillar. I'll buy a cup and get another A-pillar panel. Make them work together and paint them to match.
