    Altenator help........

Hey guys I have a 92 Mercury Grand Marquis with a 4.6.....Its comes from the factory with a 95 amp altenator, I was told when I was looking for the 130 amp altenator that I would have to use a unit from a 95 to 97 and it wont fit without customizing a bracket :cuss: .....I was wondering if there is any truth to that...Thanks LJ :jumpin:

The '92-'97 use the same alternator. The mounting bracket to the intake is different for the aluminum and plastic intakes. Just use your '92 bracket and you'll be fine.

I have a 130amp '96 Mustang alternator in my Marquis. It fit both my '93 motor, and the new '00 motor I have now.

(FYI: There are a couple different types of regulators connectors used. My
brother's '93 CVPI has a different voltage regulator harness than my '93 Marquis. Just something to look at when you get a new unit.)
