    Front shock problems

I thought I had a wheel bearing problem, but it seems like the shocks I just replaced in October are now shit. I was reading on another forum about someone that was having tire vibration problems at speeds above 45mph, and he could see his tire bouncing up and down in the reflection of another car. I can watch my passenger side front tire bounce up and down at 65mph cruise speeds just by looking down the hood. The tires are all correctly inflated, even had them balanced twice.

They were pepboys shocks, probably monroe shocks that I replaced when I had the car inspected in October. The front end feels really loose, almost like my old truck, and is rough on rough roads. I looked at the front end, but it seemed pretty clean underneath for a 20 year old car. I did notice if I pushed down on the front end then let it go, it would just bounce all over the place for about 20 seconds, maybe more. This usually means bad shocks right?

Damm, I can't believe those monroe shocks didn't even last a year. I guess there quality has gone to shit lately. I guess swapping in some kyb gr2 gas shocks will be a nice upgrade.

Think about it most shocks are cheeper than 20 years ago for a set.

Go with some afco's 1020s fit the gm and CV yeea about 65 each but they last and are way better than parts house oem stuff.

Monroe is garbage...my Gabriels lasted longer and were like 20 bucks...Go with a circle track shock, the suggested afco-or one of the others in the stickies....

Hey guys...You have to relize that the pepboys shock is like 3rd line not first run like you get out of a box marked monro. They will got to a manufacture and ask for the cheapest thing they can get and then they can still say its a monro product. Thats why when you call Napa or Car quest you can get house brand or name brand. Like White box rotors and top shelf....Hey now that I think of it like a bar top shelf Wild turkey or rot gut bottom shelf...

He's right. They put garbage on your car and now its toast. KYBs are cheap and seem to hold up pretty well. *shrug* Lots of options here depending what you want.
