    Cowl hood or teardrop

I need more hood clearence. i have a generic cowl scoop. looks like this.
This is laying around and will be free to use.

but im also partial to the Ford Thunderbolt reverse tear drop scoop. looks like this. but the round part would have two rectangular holes cut in it and would face the windshield. cost about $50-$60 plus shipping.

Both would be blended into the hood and painted. I know how the cowl will look, but im not sure how the rounded teardrop scoop will look on my 85. The teardrop scoop is hugh and will take up the majority of the hood, just like on the thunderbolt. I have seen them on Galaxies and the look pretty good.

I always hated tear drops. The cowl has matching lines for a box Vic anyways, will look more like it belongs.

I love the teardrops. However, it probably just wouldn't look right on a square car. The Blue Tank has/had one on his car, I don't know if you saw that? It doesn't look bad...tho a cowl would be more fitting for the lines.

I think they both would look good.

However, that cowl would probably werk better.

Yep I like the tear drop but the cowl goes better with the 85.

If you do the tear drop then take out the high beams and run ducting to the carb. That would be the best way to do the tear drop.

Cowl. I like the tear drop but like everyone else said it doesn't look like I would go good with a square car. Also do it right when you put it on, I have a friend that bought a cowl for his hood on is 85 monte and he pop rivited it in and it looked like shit.

The only reason i did not already have a tear drop is because like most have mentioned im not sure how it would look on a boxy car, even teh old Falcons and Fairlanes are a little more rounded. I was kinda looking for something a litttle more unique besides a cowl. Oh well.

A cowl would look sick no matter what. I sorta tend to agree the teardrop wouldnt look to good on a square car too.
