    Hood Insulation

Wherre can i get one, cheap?

My car looks showroom, the engine bay is niice and clean, and it's got this hanging "garbage" on top of it.

I want to keep one in the car for quiet reasons.

It doesnt make a difference in "quietness".

rip it out, throw it in the trash. It isn't really for sound deadening, its for engine fires, acts as a blanket to put the motor out.

I need to rip the one outta the wagon, it's fallin down.

Tom is right, it's there for fire protection. Also helps keep heat from messin up the paint on the hood, which it doesn't really do anyway...I've ran my cars without them for a long time.

                  Thanks, but mine's a 91; won't fit.

What i DID do was get one fro a 72-73 Caddy Eldorado (BIG HOOD!)

I'll use mine to be a pattern for cutting out the new one.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Yup. The exterior of the hood is different, but the underside is identical from 1979-91.
