i was considering a set of bucket seats and floor console ala lx sport with the floor shifter. how hard would that be to set up? hardest part i think would be making the hole in the floor. any special mods to the tranny i might have to make?

T-bird seat tracks are narrower , mustangs are even more narrow, so i imagine the continental, or mark 8s will be too narrow. you could do what i did and weld tabs on to the seat tracks to mount to you original holeshttp://secondhandracing.com/Home.aspx

I allmost bought the bucket seats out of the cop car in my yard - I decided not to after i found out they dont recline!!!!
and making a floor shifter isnt so terribly difficult, my friend put a ratcheting floor shift in his AOD thunderbird, and the shifter came with cables and brackets to hook it all up. (aftermarket)
we NEED to find the magical ford product that will give us direct bolt in power bucket seats. that would make me a happy wanker!Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

what do you guys think of this shifter?
http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id...subcat=1&pid=7
b-m says it'll work with the aod. i just need an installation kit. right now i'm working right now i'm working in paint on a preliminary design for the console. i'm still going to have my gauge setup i had mentioned previously with the mustang gauge cauges. i'm hoping to get the shifter closer to my seat to make room for the cupholders to fit. it will probably be a two piece console so that
a. i can run vents from the floor vent to just before the seats(leg warmers) and to the back seat for passengers in teh winter
b. so that i can have an armrest with a small storage bin.
whats in my favor is the fact that panthers have wide ass humpsSave a seal, club a liberal.

here is my plan for the center console. the gauges are going to be towards the front of the car. those are the 6 circles near the top. the shifter will be on the left, closer to my seat rather then centereed. the cupholders will be next to the shifter, and then we'll have the storage/armrest piece. plus i'm going to add ducting to just before the seats and in the back, kinda like a luxury car. let me know what you guiys think!Save a seal, club a liberal.

wOOt!!! bucket seat goodness
i'm going to be meeting with 2vmodular from cvn and he has a set of pi buckets that he is going to give me. my parents are going to drive me to mass next week. theres that part squaered away. and they won't be leather, but who cares? next up for the interior design the console and get the pieces for it. i'm gonna hold off on the floor shifter idea for now, but i'll lkeep it in mind when i build the console that way if i decide to mount one i don't have to remake the console.   :slug: :slug:Save a seal, club a liberal.

a couple of the vics I have seen in the yards have random pairs of bucket seat sitting in the back seat.... I wonder if they are there for a reason...Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements
