Ok, everytime it gets cold here, (below 45 degrees) My '91 CV with a 5.0 starts acting up... from the time I start it, until it warms up.. it has like a dead miss, intermitently... It is almost like someone pulling the coil wire off and putting it right back on, before the car quits... Also the check engine light comes on once, for about 5 seconds, then goes off...only code it shows is the egr valve has no flow... it is really annoying.... The car has had replaced...

Distributor cap
rotor button
wires
plugs
gas filter

I was thinking maybe the coil, pick up, or ignition module was acting up.... Any thoughts????

Tom, how are you checking for codes?

Keep in mind there are 3 different types of codes, Key on engine off, Key on engine running and keep alive memory.
If you area only checking the key on engine off codes, you may be missing some other problems. I would do the key on engine running test and see what comes up. My guess would be a faulty CTS or IAC.

ok... check the key on engine off codes. After those display, you will get a single beep, then it will start the keep alive or hard fault codes.
