    half pint!

    gas prices are beyond ridiculous.

to compensate, i bought myself this:

    '03 Ford ZX2.

i've always had my eye on these lil suckers. i figure if i have to get a compact, let it be a Ford. the Focus i'm not too fond of because they are pretty problematic. i want something i can drive for a while anot worry about breaking down. its got teh 130-horse ZETEC VCT engine. i'm getting about 25-28 city, 32 highway. its a drataic imporvement in savings. plus this car is alot of fun to drive to be honest. its small, easy to park, and its QUICK altho it lacks lowend torque 9typics 4-cylinder flaw) but from what i've read, these suckers do mid 15s bone stock, auto trans.

its gonna stay stock, altho i may lower it a bit and get some 16 or 17" wheels. but this of course will be AFTER i finish the LTD

i got a 2-year powertrain warranty to boot! this baby is gonna be goin through hell!

Looks nice. I didn't know they made them till 03, I thought those things got the axe back in 01. I guess I just don't see many of the new restyled ones. My moms focus has the zetec in it, it is pretty peppy. Whenever I drive it I find myself manually shifting in even though it is a auto.lol Nice daily though.

I like the later model front end they put on ZX2's. I havent seen too many of them around but I like the car for what it is.

A lowering kit is probably readily available, and I would suggest it. That thing looks like it's been lifted. Nice DD though man. Good choice, as the threat of becoming a ricer will keep you from doing too much to it, and help you stay focused!

God forbid I ever get a FWD with a slushbox.

If you like it, though, then good luck. I know I'm on the market for a FWD, for the mileage.

I thought about getting an econobox to save money, but by the time I pay for something and get insurance I wouldn't save anything in the long run.

the later frontend is what i love the most. looks much sharper like that.

and actually, that frontend was '03 only. it was actually scheduled to be till '04, but they axed it sooner (dunno why) the '03 was the only model i was willing to get. this was only one of 3 in the area being sold during the time i was searching for it (trust me, theres a good million cars for sale in the area at one time)

i also made my g/f jealous since she has the '99 model with the older frontend. her having one was another reason why i got it.

trust me, this car is no replacement for any panther. you just cant beat the size and power the panther has. i miss driving the LTD tho. its sitting on jackstands right now.
