i figured it out thanks for the advice man.
if its not marked with a 1, I'm guessing straight back. You can really make it anyplace you want with non-EFI motors though, and it might be somewhere else if the distributor was ever moved and re-dropped incorrectly. Might be best to just bring it up to TDC on the #1 compression stroke and see where the rotor points.
hey you wouldnt happen to know where number 1 would go on the distributor on a 73 ltd?
