Nice work Thain and any other mods/admins that helped out. I wish I could say I knew what I was doing and help out....but I can't. I don't mind the new look whatsoever. It is all good with me.

And I did have a certain affection for the skins of the old system that let us search for tags from the regular search pulldown. But hardly a big deal.

The haters all need to go try to revive the Box section on CVN if you find new stuff such an inconvenience.

I've been trying to get a UserCP button back at the top. I used that button all the time as well and am dying without it. Having trouble getting one to work though, I'm not as familiar with the coding used in vb4 as I was with the old one, but I'll keep working on it.

Huh, goofy. Guess I have no idea what is and isn't easy. Though, maybe a (temporary) solution would be to stick a link up on the header, which I assume is manually configured in a separate document (inserted via some sort of "include" command) and entirely non-VB?

Is there a way to change our personal viewing settings?
I just looked into your request...

Under forum...go to forum actions...then general settings. You can then scroll down to thread display options and select which one you want.

I just need to bag on vbulletin. I really hate the new look of this version. Why do software people (in general) always need to mess up something that is visually comfortable? Fix the bones, leave the look darn it.

Anyway, a couple things I noticed:
Where is the log in box? I had to hit reply to get a login prompt.

Where is the "You last visited on" time stamp? Its something I reference regularly, especially when I'm visiting from multiple computers throughout the day. Or have hit the "mark forum/forums read" prematurely.

                          Alex.

I cannot seem to find the login to my account box anywhere on the front page either. So what I am doing is going to a thread to reply to it to login, like Alex above me. I am also using a Mac and Firefox with flashblocker so maybe that is why?

yeah i dunno wtf they did to the login box. maybe its something to do with the content manager thats our front page. There is a login at grandmarq.net though. If you aren't already logged in, it will show the login box right under the logo towards the top of the screen. Theres no logout link either. Lemme screw around with that and see if I can figure it out.

As for the visuals, I have to say I'm a bit surprised they didn't offer a vb3 look theme along with this one. I kinda like the new style tbh, but it would have made a lot of sense to retain theme compatibility with vb3. There are a lot of forums with heavily customized themes and its a pain in the ass rewriting that stuff.

I couldn't find a log in box. I haven't been on the laptop since before the upgrade. I logged in by trying to reply to a thread, and it took me to a 'you can't post because you aren't logged in' screen, where I could log in. I also don't see any place to log out.
