Poke your head down next to the power brake booster ... barring any technicalities, you'll just pop that big connector off your stock ECM and swap in the 'stang unit. If you get a speed-density computer, I don't believe any other electrical changes should be required. eBay is one source, or PM lincolnmania, he'd probably know where to find one.

You need the cam to go with it. Otherwise, it'll run like shit

oh the heads too......the e7 heads you can get from a 87-95 ford truck 302 or a 87-95 mustang 5.0 or a 88-92 lincoln mark7 (the mark7's are the most commonly found ho's in my area.....people dont know they have ho's i guess lol)
19 lb injectors......trucks, 5.0 ho's and 4.6's......the injectors are real easy to get from the 4.6's
                  camshaft......ho or explorer cam
ecm now you have an 89.....if you were to use a mustang ecm, you would lose your cruise control......the 88-92 lincoln mark7 is the preffered ecm for speed density

If you want a Mustang ECM, you have to do some wiring harness mods to provide the mass air input. Its really not neccesary with a stock HO or Explorer camshaft though. A Mark VII ECM will work just fine, and they're cheaper usually.

ok in your opinion would it be cheaper and easier to just swap in a mustang 5.0 302 ? or to put all these ho parts onto the panthers 302 ?

well, since you wouldn't have to tear the engine down to change the parts inside the engine, the machining required for the block and cam, it would just be a lot cheaper to pull a complete H.O from the junkyard with the computer as well. Also, as LincolnMania has said, with the mustang computer, you will lose your cruise control.

six of one, half dozen of another. I'd rather use a donor motor to rebuild and modify out of the car, then install it complete rather than doing heads cam and intake on a block in the car. Its your choice but your back may not appreciate hossing those iron heads over the fenders. I know I did it once on my car and I hurt for 3 days. I can do a motor swap in less time and I don't feel like someone beat me up afterward.

You can post another thread in Off Topic Bullshit and ask who lives near your area.
