1991 Mercury Grand Marquis "mechanic special" in Wichita Falls, TX - $1000

Ad says it needs a transmission rebuild. Looks a little worse for wear. I would offer him $500 for it if I had a place to put it.

    From the ad:

"I have a '91 mercury Grand Marquis with low miles that I have to part with. It has a fuel injected 302 boss engine that runs excellent. Needs tranny rebuilt among other smaller repairs. The interior is in wonderful condition. I hate to get rid of it but I don't have the time to fix it up, as I have to move."

Why not state the "low mileage"???? May just need a T.V. bushing. WagonMan

Its not that bad of a shape body looks okay/straight just paint job. And slap a junkyard trans and you got a good steal probably if engine is still good. But i never really liked the 90-91 dashes. Im more of a 89 and down guy

Agree with the MaineMan. EH, I'd never chance a junkyard trans, especially since the trans on these is the Achilles heel and sends most of them to pasture.. If you're going to go through the work, might as well put something definitively reliable in there. And sure, could be the TV bushing but who knows how long it has been driven like that? It's just like when someone states a vehicle has a bad head gasket. Yeah, sure, they stopped driving it right away and it never overheated..

I sold the Mad Marquis for $1400... it was beat to hell but ran great. Pick your poison.

In this case? I'd save my money, new cars are being listed every day.

That car popped up, another one will too.

"Every day" was a moniker for eventually. I don't see good scores every WEEK even around here but every couple of months something that almost has me dipping into my savings pops up. EDIT: Or I should say something that has me regretting purchasing what I already purchased...
