You used to be able to get them brand new (FRPP) for $190, from Latemodel Restoration Supply.

31 spline 8.8 carrier is now 250 at LMRS, so you would need to change axles too, they don't seem to have a 28 spline. May want to check the junkyards, I just got one, they go for 100-120 used on ebay-Phil

The LKQs down here are doing 50% off everything for the holiday... Should be the same at all locations. That's how I upgraded my 97 from 2.73 open to 3.27 locked for $50 and a few hours of my time
