Box Crown Vic or Grand Marq for parts.

Hey guys, we're finally settled up with the insurance company, it did not end the way I wanted to (Vicky is going to be on a rebuilt title ) but I'm going to have moneys to fix it. And since that is the case I'm going to do it right the first time. So I am looking for a parts car with a relatively clean body. I'd rather it not be a 2 door, I'd feel like shit cutting one of those up. I need it to have clean front fenders, rear quarters, and rockers, and a straight rear end. I have a decent budget for what I feel a parts car should go for, so if you know of one let me know. An <87 crown vic would be optimum, but if it's clean I'll take what I can get. Also needs to be within driving distance of Ohio, I'd like to have it be a day trip at the longest, so Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, West Virginia should be fine, if it's a crazy deal I can go farther, but not outrageous.

Thats sort of interesting, but I guess its a state by state thing. The Towncar was totaled out by my insurance co but since its older than 20 years, it won't end up with a salvage title.

Yeah Ohio is dumb. This has been a fight the entire way, and apparently there is no way around it.

Well, I bought one locally today, an 86 CV, so I guess I don't need one anymore.

As far as I know it does. The body only has minor surface rust, and it comes with vent windows and power windows and locks (all of which I always wanted). It's a sold car but it's starting to show its age. Thankfully it's been undercoated so it survived the Indiana winters.

Do you need the rocker panel trim pieces from your donor car? I lost my passenger side one in one of the lovely snow storms my state had.

You mean the black strips that run below the granny trim? I shouldn't. I have chrome strips already. When I'm home I can double check what kind of shape they are in, but they're yours if you want them.

Well, the deal fell through on the other car, so I guess I'm back in the market looking for one again.
