Gonna run just fine, 'specially when I pack those atmospherically atomized droplets into my mill with a blower. A/F ratio give or take!!! Extra gas just cools the burn ;-) Best thing is I can tune it with a screwdriver and my natural senses - I DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' LAPTOP!!!!!!!sigpic

I'm not disputing that sensors/computer/EFI are technically ideal and more efficient, I have "later model" daily drivers too (I rarely mess with them, just drive them and enjoy the dependability); but if you've never built a car and tuned it with your five (six? ;-) ) senses, you're missing out on one of life's corporeal pleasures. I've spent enough time with worn out carbs to have lost my "zen" about them. I've gotten very one and done with things, I'll fool with it once until its right, and then I don't want to touch it again.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

I, too, have become very lazy in my old age, but I haven't lost the joy of becoming "one" with the machine (that usually comes after hours and hours of bloody mortal combat with the @#$%&%!!! p.o.s. machine...)sigpic

I went through 4 carbs on a chevy 305 in a pontiac parisienne and then the engine blew up (head gasket most likely) and started dumping fuel, oil, and coolant out the back of the engine. I don't really have a problem with carbs, but getting anyone to actually work on one any more is like trying to find an honest politician. If you can't do all of it yourself, you're pretty much out of luck. As that was my first experience with them and the absolute abysmal support locally for them, I was completely put out. I'd probably still be driving that car if it was TBI (the chevy system actually worked rather well).
