    Traction control

i actually kinda like my traction control in my car.

i do not rely on my tc heavily. i turn it off when i know it will kick on and i don't need it to.

i was just curious if break wear is an issue.

Traction control on my Mark is a fucking load better than the TC on my Continental and Crown Victoria. The TC on those two car was a nuisance...

I hate mine. I pull the fuse when I wanna have fun. It especially sux in the snow when I need to power out of shit. ABS =good TC= bad. I wish I had the switch to turn it off.

No TC for my P71 and thank god. In you dads old 2000 GM it was going off right and left and in his new 03 his tc is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. It lets it slip alittle before kicking in.

Do you all realize what tracion control REALLY is?

It does one of a couple things
              1. Shifts into 2nd gear, to prevent you from spinning more..
              2. Lets up on the throttle, ECM controlled.

              Thats all.

It also activates the brakes on wheels that it senses spinning faster than the other. My rear brakes get a work out, you can hear that abs module going ape shit. The owners manual says it stops braking the tires above 35 mph.

Where is the fuse in my 1997 GM so I
can "shut" the traction control off?

Try looking in the glovebox for a white/black button with "traction" written on it...

There is none....no button or switch anywhere.

I don't think you can shut it off.

On your pass side inner fender there is a fuse relay box. Pop the cover off and look for the fuse that says abs. Make sure the car is off when you pull it.
