    140 mph speedometer

    Dear Panthers,
Can I install a police Crown Vic speedo in my Colony park? Donald McCaig

    What year is your CP?

The mercury dash is different from the ford dash from 79-89, but in 90-91 they are the same. If you have a 90-91 you can use the 140 speedo, plug and play. That isnt to say you cant install it in an earlier car, it just wont be a direct fit.

      If you have a 90-91, I've got a 140 speedo for sale.

Didn't GMGT get the 140 speedo to fit without any patch panels around it?

He used CV dash trim. Never seen anyone do it with the Merc dash...I like it!

                  Dear Panthers,
Thanks. The Boulevard Cruiser dash is an '89 so I'll have to forego the 140 speedo. Don't make no never mind. In the east I can't run faster than 72 out west 82? and the Street Pilot is more accurate than the speedo anyway.

noone has found it, but theres a factory original 140 speedo for the 79-89 Grand Marquis. they were extrememly rare and only came in the early police package grand marquis
                    LTD is still here

Too bad it's just a puffed up legend because of a GM police car. Doesn't mean there actually was a police package GM.

Unless you have pics, stfu. They DON'T EXIST! Like Blaze said, just cause they stuck some police decals on a Marquis and used it for a cop car, doesn't mean it was a full out "Police Package Marquis". There have been GMQ's used as cop cars since then, are they police packages...no.

A quick look will tell you these cars were at least base models. They may be the same car, though the website list one as a 1980 and the other as a 1981.
