    Explorer Intake

    i just got an Explorer Intake and theres a hole on the
    upper intake in the middle of the runners but not on the lower intake whats the hole for and do i need it
    will this cause any problems

    That's the EGR, you got a 96 upper and a 97+ lower....

      so are these alright to use together and will it effect the egr when its installed

        You won't have working EGR with that mix of parts. You can use it if you don't have emissions, but make sure the egr valve has no vacuum going to it otherwise you might run into part throttle lean problems.

            There are no egr passages in the lower manifold, if you need it to function correctly find a 96/early97 lower manifold.

                The exhaust crossover is probably still in the lower intake. Look from the side and see what the exhaust passage path looks like. It may be just a matter of drilling down into it. There is little danger of anything harmful happening by trying it out. Holes in aluminum are easily plugged.
