    drive shaft

will a 2000 crown vic ALUMINUM drive shaft fit my 1987 cv wagon

I believe so, but you might need the longer tailshaft if the wagon doesnt already have it.

Longer? Thought that was just for Town Cars since they have the extended wheelbase ....

I didn't know if wagons had it or not.

wagons do not have extended tailshafts. Only lincolns. The slip yoke on a 2000 is different also

I was wondering about that, though a yoke isn't too hard to change out. Is the differential end the same, then?

I'll say yeah, and the U joints are probably larger too , requiring special conversion joints... But I'm not sure about that. Just that the 4r70ws used bigger output shafts and different yokes.

I wonder what the bolt spacing is on those. I know the tow vs non-tow cars have different pinion flanges. Wonder if the aluminum one would mate up to the tow package pinion flange without the adapter gig
