    91 Vic Odometer not working

    OK

On my 91 Vic Wagon, the speedometer works fine, but the odometer doesn't work.

So, do we have an electronic speedo and mechanical odo?

I've done a search for the problem, but haven't found anything specific.

Any pointers on what might be the cause and fix?

    Thanks!

Whoops, should this be in the interior section? Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

nope they're both mechanical, your odo is broke
'88 Colony Park, white with wood grain contact paper, K code axle, hose pliers on heater hoses, factory duals, big plans in the future...

'83 Toyota 4x4, 31x10.50 15, could use a new carb, custom humidifying holes in the roof, mud based paint...

It wasn't important enough for me to drop $25 a gear. I probably would have broke the speedometer changing them, too.

Gives me an excuse to drop a 140 speedo in.

I must say that having the 140 speedo gives the car a complete different feel!...well at least a look. lol

No, the speedometer is electric, and a gear driven by the speedo turns the odometer, they break very often, even the aeros had the same problem. Our odometer only works when it feels like it. I'm not sure if Ford sells a repair kit or not. Only other bet is a junkyard car that still has a working odometer. But that probably won't last that long.
