I had forgotten how long some of the hills are down your way......I used to drive down to Jaffrey about once a month back when I had my 81'....I used to alternate between feet for the brakes it was so bad in places.

You would be best served with a 5-speed swap.......

Yeah But I don't want to deal with swapping that out. At least new gears should help with the up hill side.

I went from 2.73s to 3.73s. I can not comment on the true effect of the gear swap due to an ill shifting transmission. But highway cruising isn't bad with the 3.73s. Up and down hills, no problem.

But, I sometimes miss the 2.73s... nothing like 100 mph at 2000 rpm... I miss the way my car was before transmission issues and 3.73s... sometimes Tip in at 100 mph, get 3rd and the car would pull away...

Best I can tell, with the 2.73s, my car's turning 2000 RPM at 83MPH with the stock 215/70R15 tires.

So, see, in theory, peak horsepower will occur at 133 MPH! Surely it'll be able to do that, right? And with duals, that bumps up peak torque and power 200 RPM if the "official" numbers are correct, so, woohoo, peak horsepower at 141MPH!

I'm guessing in the real world, even with flat ground and a place to safely do it, it's probably not happening....

But, in theory, it's nice... still, I'd probably be happy had my car come with 3.08s

I'm pretty confident that, given how much guts it has at 90ish MPH, if nothing vibrated loose or got blown off, my car could do 130MPH.
