    where is the ecm/ecu/ computer?

On lincolns and mustangs, it's right by the passenger front door.
Doesn't seem to be there in my 1990 grand marquis. Where is it?

I'd look harder, but I don't have any time to waste, not at all... last day to use the school shop/tools/experties on this project and SO much remaining to do.....

    thanks!

Near the brake pedal , you have to unbolt it from under the hood below the brake booster

btw I lifted those pics from http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00065.html - the article pertains to a Town Car, but it's all there.

            thanks!
I think I liked the mustang/ mark vii position better
But after fighting with it for a while, I figured out I could take out the cruise control module/solenoid, and all was easier

yeah, 2 10 mm nuts and unplug it and the cruise servo will be out of your way to access the computer.

There was some cursing involved when I pulled one out of a car this morning at the junk yard. Got it out though.
