    2bbl 302

There's a 2bbl 302 (no carb) from a van in the waste oil shed behind the shop I'm working at.

Is anything from this motor worth having? I can have it if I want it, it's been sitting in the barn for 3 years-ish...had blowby problems so my boss pulled it out of the vehicle.. Absolutely no idea what year the van was or if the motor was even original to the van..or if it was stock. Timing chain was new at the time, can't remember what else but it was cared for, just old.

I don't have a place to keep it and I don't have a car that can take it but I can probably use my bosses truck and just throw the motor out in my back yard and put a tarp over it if I'm just going to be stripping it. It would be a bit of an inconvenience, but hey, a free motor is a free motor.

Is this blue rust monster worth the effort?

I would pass unless there's something seriously wrong with the mothership's 302.

Nothing wrong with it all, but it's not the only Ford I'll ever have

Sounds like a good candidate for the scrap bin.

Although it may have those cool stamped steel "Powered by Ford" valve covers that no one likes but me.

You could maybe take it apart, have the block cleaned and used for a cheap rebuilt engine. I would think nothing but the block is worth saving, and that's if the block isn't cracked or something.

They look good, but the damn things always leak.
