EGR / EGR Position sensor questions

My new egr valve came with two o-rings. One looks like your standard o-ring and the other looks like a flattened version. When I took the original off the car it only had the standard o-ring. I'll post a pic. What order do these go back on, or do I only use one?

I don't remember using an O-ring at all. Maybe the position sensor has one? I can't remember but I'd put the new one on the same way the old one came off. So if it uses the normal o-ring inbetween the valve and the sensor then that's how I'd slap it back on.

They do have a seal under there. Without it, the valve leaks and will not open.

Try the standard one and see if you get codes. If it gives some code about the position sensor out of range, swap it to the thin seal. The depth that plunger sits at is somewhat critical for it to work right. if its not within the expected "closed" range, you'll get a fault code for it and the EGR will not work.
