      That's a 31 spline, you need a 28 spline.

31 spline no workie. It must be a 28 spline.

just gotta know how to throttle it right. I've driven on ice without issues and I have proof (during the cobblestone ice BS we had Dec 6-9, 2013 here in DFW). Just gotta take it slow. And yes, the track lock helped a LOT.

You might have to go eBay... I' can't seem to find anyone that has it actually in stock. Looks like the 31 is everywhere but not the 28.

I think the new Mustangs run a 31. The 28 may have gone out of production.

It went out of production a few years ago, it is hard to find new. There is pretty much no reason to buy new unless you just like to say it's all new.
The 28 spline trac-lok units can be found all day long on ebay, Craigslist, junkyards, etc. and since they are used, they are cheaper.

imo not a job to someone who has never done it before. you need a shop press and a dial indicator and a 1/4" beam torque wrench to start with.
you will want to pick up a bearing kit, axle seals and bearings, and a 28 spline traction lock.

I was gonna buy all the parts and leave them and the car off with my old shop teacher. He says he's done tons of them and can have it done in a week.
