    Rear disc brake Kcode goodness

Finally got around to swapping the good rear differential from the wrecked silver GM to the blue CV I am driving now. This was the K code I found in the local pull-a-part yard from an '84 town car. Scott(lincolnmania) and I pulled it during Hurricane Charlie August 2004, then installed new bearings, swapped my rear disc parts and rebuilt the trac-loc.

The rear end had been sitting since I pulled it from the wrecked car around september of last year. It was a tad noisey when we built it, so I decided to pull the cover to check things out and change the fluid. The fluid was in good condition, but the spider gears are showing some wear, this might be the source of the noise. after 2 qts of 75W140 synthetic oil and some friction modifier, it works pretty well.

What rear end did you have before? I've got 2.73s in mine, and I'm planning to put in 3.27s. It'd sure be nice to have city gas mileage in the double digits.
