    need wheel tire help

i used the search first, and came up with a previous post stating..

"Here are the front tire dimenssions for the tallest, widest, tires, wheels that fit inside the front inner and outer wheel well:

    Diameter-----------25.9"
    Section width------11.2"
    Rim width-----------8.0"
    Back spacing--------4.0" = 0 offset.

    Inner wheel well clearance:
If a 4.5 back spacing is used (.5 inset) the tire section over all width would have to be reduced by 1 inch or a total section width of 10.2 or less"

this chart states backspacing with 4.5" is a 0 offset, not 4.0 like previously stated

but my real question is, whats the biggest tire i can fit in front, stock suspension 86 grand marquis, the wheel is 18x8 with a 0 offset.

You have the max dimensions. Now you just have to look up tire dimensions for a 8" wide rim. Wheel diameter dosent matter. 14",15",16",17,"18"....24"

With a 18x8 rim, you can run a 255/45R18 tire [just keep your backspacing around 4.5"]. A 255/45R18 has a overall diameter of 27", a section width of 10", and the difference in diameter compaired to stock is less than 1%.

My rims are 18x9.5 with 4.25"-4.5" of total backspacing and I run 255/45R18 up front & 285/40R18 out back. I need to try the 285/40R18 up front to see if it will fit.

Here is a pic of my front wheel.[18x9.5 rim, 255/45R18 tire]

Is that taking in consideration the spacer/adapters?

Yes, if I remember right my 18x9.5 rims with the spacer/adapter ended up being within .25" of stock backspacing.
