    KYB shock ?

OK, I live so far from civilization that Rock Auto is my best bet for car parts. My '84 GM needs shocks bad, and I'm planning on lowering the suspension by ~ 1.5", cutting 3/4 of a coil off the fronts and using spring clamps on the rear. So, here's my ?
Rock Auto offers KYB gas shocks, but they offer (on the front) one for non-cop&taxi and one for cop&taxi. Why? Stiffer suspension or higher ride height?

I had a set on a 1988 Mustang GT and they worked great also. Drove/beat that car for 5 years and they still worked fine.

heavier valving on the cop shocks. They'd go well with the slightly increased spring rate you get by cutting the coils.

Go cop shocks regardless of whether you've got stock springs or not. You will love the difference in handling.
